Team Illinois tryouts

We are PUMPED to be hosting the Team ILLINOIS State Tryouts on May 17th at the Salt Creek Sports Center. Our state director, Dan Costanza will be helping us organize the state tryout for all ages from 6u thru 2007 birth years.

  • 10am - 12pm :2014, 2015, 2016 & younger
  • 12pm - 2pm : 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013
  • 2pm - 4pm : 2007, 2008, 2009

Illinois has rich history at State Wars with many long time players being known around the country as some of the best around. Players such as Pat Lee, Pete Messina, Dan Costanza, Zack Lane, Brogan Rafferty, Adrian Wisniewski, and Griffin Kluzek to name a few.


We are so thankful for all of the support that Illinois brings to State Wars. With so many terrific coaches, players and families in the state, we know that Team Illinois will be one of the most passionate to play this summer at State Wars. A HUGE thank you to all of our Team Illinois coaches and managers : Dan Costanza, Laurie Siewert, Patrick DeVito, Courtney Johnston, Griffin Kluzek, Jeff Osborn, Alynne Chen, Charles Chen and others.


State Wars is an amazing opportunity to play teams from ALL OVER that you normally do not face.


FUN FACT : Team Illinois 2006 standout Adrian Wisniewski represented the Team USA Jr Mens team in Italy last summer at the World Championships. This was Adrian's second time playing for this team and was named captain in 2024. The Jr team took home the bronze medal.


State Wars is an amazing opportunity to play teams from ALL OVER that you normally do not face. Having a chance to play teams from different parts of North America and beyond is just one of the many amazing parts of State Wars.


State Wars is being held this summer at the beautiful Taylor Sportsplex in Taylor, Michigan. The Sportsplex is such an awesome complex, it houses 3 NHL sized rinks and is AIR CONDITIONED as well. This will be our third time hosting State Wars in Hockey Town and each time the competition has been incredible! We expect another amazing State Wars event in '25!
