Sunday FUNday

As always in tournament weekend hockey, Sunday becomes the most important of days. This is the day where dreams come true and many players get to go home smiling with that gold around their neck. As ling as you qualified for the playoffs or in many cases this weekend for a championship game, then everything starts at square one and even if you've struggled all weekend long you have a chance to redeem yourself. It's not about your first game played but your last in tourneys like Winter Wars and especially in 'not so' Winter Wars too!

Senior A

This was the largest division of the weekend with 16 teams competing for glory. Only the MR2 Eskimo Bros (NJ) and the Rink Rat Impact (NY) would go 3-0 and another Long Island squad, the Roar would finish 2-0-1. The top 8 are set and the quarterfinals are starting shortly at Marple. Casey Forte from the DSC Labeda Devils (NJ) would lead the division in scoring with 8 pts. Dennis McGarry of ISCA would lead all goalies with a perfect 1.000 save pct!

Qtr Final Matchups :

#8 seed Sublimation Kings Jokers (NJ) would lose 4-2 to #1 seed MR2 Eskimo Brs (NJ

#7 seed Jaguars (NJ)would upset #2 seed Rink Rat Impact (NY), 3-0

#6 seed DSC Labeda Devils (NJ) also upset #3 seed Long Island Roar (NY)

#5 seed Philadelphia Kings (PA) are currently playing #4 seed ISCA Grizzlies (NJ)

Senior AA

This was a very competitive division for 8 very strong teams, many players who could be playing in the Pro division, including an NHLer from the Detroit Red Wings! Yes, Adam Erne of the Connecticut Coasters was here playing this weekend, as he has played roughly 150 games over the past 3 years with both the Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings, awesome stuff.

Semi Finals

#4 seed Bad News (PA) defeated #1 seed DSC Labeda Devils (NJ)

#3 seed SK Nightmare (NJ) lost to #2 seed NYC Empire (NY)

Setting up a great final for 3pm!

35+ Division

A very solid 4 team division that came down to goal differential as 3 teams were tied with a 2-1 record. Once again showing how important every goal is in every game played!

The RGB Labeda Devils (NJ) will be facing the Tour Assault (NJ) in the championship

45+ Division

The one division that concluded on Saturday was also filled with last game action as any team could've made the playoffs with no team winning all of their preliminary games. In the championship, the Tour Assault would dominate the fist half, leading 3-0 at one point. The Labeda Snipers would battle back, only to fall 5-4 in the end. Tour Assault's Vinny Comito would win the MVP.
