Mid West Wars Kicks Off

Things are off and running here at Mid West Wars and we couldn’t be more happy with the weekend of hockey we have put together.  68 teams are competing which makes for a packed weekend with only two sheets to play on.  Divisions playing are from 6under thru 18under, Junior, Senior A, Senior AA and our PAMA Pro Showcase.  What makes a tournament like this so special is having teams from other states coming out to compete.  In a time when many tournaments have become localized, we are proud that State Wars Hockey events have become ones that teams will travel near and far to play in.

This weekend we have the support of the Mission Bordercats of Michigan.  Our Michigan state director Matt Koleski, who has hosted this tourney the last bunch of years has made the trip and is in full support of bringing teams to other facilities to play.  The Bordercats have teams in 10u,12u,14u,16u,Junior and of course his very tough Pro team is here as well.  The Des Moines Explosion have traveled in from Iowa and it is great to see what an amazing job the Kooker’s have done growing this program.  The Xplosion have teams in the 8u,10u,12u,14u and 16u divisions as well.

The Raleigh Speed have been travel warriors to date this season as they have attended our Winter Wars East and are now here in Illinois all the way from North Carolina.  The Speed are represented in the 12u,14u,16u, and 18u divisions. 

CarShield one of our sponsors has come out from Missouri to being strong teams in the Senior AA and A divisions.  We also have a 16u team out here from Nebraska, it is great to see many of the Team Nebraska kids here who we see at State Wars each summer.
