Great Action Here in Corona

With day one in the books, the action was awesome all day at Corona and Irvine. The youth divisions are all being held in Corona so getting a chance to check out all of the future stars of the sport has been easy.

8u Division

The Raider Jets and Bulldogs are both leading the way with a 2-0 record, as both will meet today to determine who will get the top seed heading into the playoffs. Jordan Sijher has been a scoring machine for the Jets while Elijah Garcia has been dishing the puck left and right for many assists. Peter Roses is leading the way for the Bulldogs.

10u AA

The Goonies have left off last time we saw them, leading the pack with a 3-0 record. Zander Resendez has been taking charge for the Goonies. A testament to the competitiveness of the division and why we pride ourselves on splitting the divisions into AA and A when we can, each game has been a close one as each victory has been by only two goals.

10u A

Pure Octane has come down from Nor Cal as is leading the pack with a 2-0-1 record. The Bulldogs 8u team is playing up and holding their own with a 1-0-1 record. With an odd # of teams here, all teams will play four round robin games, so a long way to go here.

12u AA

The Angry Ducks have been pretty dominant thus far, having a perfect 3-0 record. The Labeda Jets will meet Tour OC Blades in the semis while the Ducks will take on the Bulldogs.

12u A

The Tour OC Blades have finished the round robin 3-0 and will take on the Bulldogs. Nolan Robbins is leading the Blades in apples while Aurele Verrando is leading them in scoring. Pure Octane’s Kaylee Lemkuhl is leading the division in scoring as well with six points.

14u AA/A

Here we have a large nine team division that will split out into AA and A playoffs. Currently the ’07 Mighty Ducks, Bulldogs Blue, and Konixx Warriors are all 2-0. The NorCal River Rats are 1-0-1 rounding out the top four for the time being.

16u AA/A

Another division that will split for playoffs is the 16u as eight teams battle it out. The Labeda Jets and Tour OC Blades are both undefeated with a 2-0 record and the Konixx Warriors are currently 1-0-1. Today’s games will determine where teams fall for the playoffs.

18u AA/A

No team has won every game thru two so far, showing how competitive the division has been so far. Labeda Mayhem, Sin City Barons, and Bulldogs are all 1-0-1. The HighRollers have also won a game as well and could be a team to watch today.

Juniors

The Juniors are still considered “youth” this weekend as they are the oldest group here at Corona. There is so much talent in this division, as many players playing in the Junior Division are also playing in the Pro Showcase at Irvine. The Skittles are leading the pack so far as Dylan Abbamont is the leading scorer for a star packed team. Sin City has made the trip from Nevada and is 1-1 with Ryland Johnson leading the way for them.
